Kelly's Bio

My name is Kelly Coe and I am proud to be the Head Coach for the Shorewood Cheetahs; I am starting my 2nd year as being a coach for J & K Elite and I am looking forward to a very exciting session.

My passion for cheerleading started when I was 7 years old and cheered for the local park district on the Northside of Chicago where I grew up. When I was 11, I became a cheerleader at St. Bartholomew Grade School and continued to cheer until I graduated in 1987. During this time they allowed the Varsity team to also coach the 2nd-4th grade intermural cheerleaders. In the fall of 1987, the head of my grade school's cheer program called on me to return and coach the Pee Wee cheerleading squad; this team practiced twice a week and cheered for football & basketball games; they were also competitive cheerleaders [every weekend] January thru March. I remained a coach at St. Bartholomew until 1992 when the interest & support for cheerleading began to dwindle; I coached 3 years Pee Wees, 2 years JVs and 1 year Varsity, all with great success. During high school I was on the Cheer/Pom team at St Patrick's HIgh School [Chicago] for 3 years, making Captain my Senior year.

I always knew that if I had daughters [and I have 2] I would love them to experience cheerleading; so when my youngest started Kindergarten I asked them both and they were excited. I attended my first J&K registration in the Falll of 2007 and was invited to be a cheer mom several weeks later - my girls were loving cheerleading and I was getting to see that first hand. I was honored when several months later I was asked to take over as Head Coach for the Shorewood Cheetahs. J & K is a GREAT company and I have the pleasure of coaching some of the most wonderful kids; I have very supportive cheer families and look forward to many more years of cheer memories with them all.

Go Cheetahs!!
